Interview: Al Sklover

Ellen - How did you find out about Ellen Wolff Photography / Long Island New York Headshots?

Al - Internet Search.

Ellen - Can you tell us why you came in for a headshot?

Al - For a long overdue refocus/rededication/reinvigoration of my promotional efforts, namely, two websites. One for my "professional" clients comprised of senior executives worldwide (ExecutiveLaw.com), the other for the remainder of the 4 billion working persons.

Ellen - How has life changed since March, since the Covid-19 pandemic started? How have you coped?

Al - Not a heck of a lot for me, as a vast majority of my work has been by phone or Zoom for a long time. I have, though, limited my casual, daily interactions a lot.

Ellen - How do you take your coffee?

Al - One cinnamon stick, one packet of Stevia, a splash of no-sugar creamer.

Ellen - What was the last book you read for fun?

Al - David and Goliath by Malcolm Gladwell.

Ellen -  Tell us one thing you can't live without.

Al - Yoga on a daily basis.

Ellen - Tell us the best place to spend the day outdoors.

Al - Jones Beach.

Ellen - How did you get started on your current path?

Al - Like so many people, pure happenstance. A good friend called, and asked me to do her a favor: assist a friend of hers going through a difficult time at work. One thing led to another, I liked what I did, how I did it, and it worked quite well for everyone (other than the employer.) You could say I did what came naturally, and decided to follow the path. It was my path. As they say, "If your path is clear, it's probably someone else's."

Ellen - What is your dream project?

Al - A good, tough, necessarily creative and imaginative negotiation helping a cooperative, appreciative client enter a new relation or depart one.

Ellen - Tell us something you want us to know about what you do, something most folks don't ask and you wish they would.
Al - As there is no high school, college, trade school, grad school or other school that I know of that teaches people how to best navigate and negotiate for themselves the in's and out's of the employment relation, including all of those darn "legalities," I pretty much have the field to myself. So blessed am I, as I enjoy what I do

Ellen - Where can we find out more about you?
